The Final Day of School Holidays

Not sure if it was M or Fairlie who commented on the inverse relationship between the amount of school fees and the days spent at school. Kingsley enjoyed the last day of her first term holidays today and heads back to school tomorrow ( Tuesday).

Had a bit of luck at the school uniform shop today. We needed to invest in a new school blazer but was trying to delay the purchase to get maximum wear out of the current one. We went in resigned to having to pay full price ($250) but struck gold when a fantastic condition, perfect fit and $40 blazer was discovered in the second hand rack! Then the day got even better!

MOS and DOS journeyed up from the Arctic coast to spend the day with us. Kingsley went for a return 10 km bike ride along the river into the city with her grandparents. MOS had a run of bad luck. There was crash in the peleton bringing down both MOS and Kingsley. Thankfully no bikes sustained any damage but MOS suffered nasty gravel rash on her hand and legs. Then , in another bout of bad luck , while MOS was walking her bike through a gravel detour she slipped and ended up on the ground again.

In typical MOS fashion that didn't stop her. After I met the cyclists for lunch we headed to the pool for the next activity. It was an hour "squad" session with plenty of laps completed by all ( except for S who was doing a coffee taste test with the new barista in the pool cafe).

Hopefully MOS doesn't pull up too bruised and sore after her adventures today.

Hope that doesn't mar her visit with you! If she suffers injuries, will she want to come again? :-)

Poor MOS. But coming from the same bloodline as you we know she's made of tough stuff.

Thanks for the text BTW. I'm glad you've been able to get some wear out of the socks.
