It's the annual bookweek parade at school time where children come dressed as their favourite character. This year everyone was encouraged to come as an Australian character to celebrate the Children's Book Council of Australia. Kingsley had already decided to go as Mary Lennox from The Secret Garden and made a hasty swap to Nell from The Seven Little Australians by Ethel Turner.
A huge thanks to Fairlie and Queenie for the loan of the outfit and to MoF for her creative sewing skills. The black pinafore and white apron are gorgeous!
For those who want a refresher of the story try the Wikipedia entry for a quick update.

What a great outfit. Fairlie - your family does have costuming down pat don't they?
The Mof could well have made this, being the fancy-dress-creation queen that she is...but in this case, it was actually made by my Auntie 4-Letter, who is an absolute whiz at all things couture.
Credit where credit is due!
TeamSAK stands corrected! With so many talented creative people associated with Fairlie it is hard to keep track sometimes.
So, Fairlie, have you established a list of rental prices for fancy dress items at House de Fairlie?
Awe she looks so cute. What a fun thing for kids to do!
Was it book week? Adele didn't come home with any fancy dress note.
Kingsley looks great. My kids always loved dress up days at school.

When is DVD week? Can someone please knock up a Rambo costume? Alternatively - does anyone have a Borat mankini they wouldn't mind lending me?
