As the saying goes : "A Woman's work is never done". Elle is the family member who has taken the adage to its maximum potential. After a varied and responsible career in a number of industries across the country Elle has now taken up residence on the continent's western outskirts. Not in air conditioned comfort, close to top end shops and restaurants, or even easily accessible! Elle is on a construction site, in a remote area, in 32 plus degree heat, working in admin but also outside wearing a hard hat. Here is the self portrait photo to prove it. What a wonderful example for Kingsley that nothing is impossible if you work hard enough for your dreams.
It is Elle's birthday soon. We all miss her and send our best wishes and pressies by express post!
Elle has even managed to check into TeamSAK and advises the following factual corrections which make her current role even more impressive! :
Change the admin to 3 hours a day admin and for the remaining 7 hours a day is a trades assistant working in temperatures into the low 40's and enduring a 'lovely' 90% humidity during the wet season! Oh and there's no shorts and t-shirt its full work clobber - long sleeve shirt and full length hard yakka pants ... not to mention the trusty old explorer sox and steel cap boots no matter what the weather is.

I am kind of guessing that Elle's regulation work uniform does not come in any feminine tones! Even if it did the ochre and dirt of the construction site would soon take it back to the standard yakka bone /brown colour. Good on you Elle- showing us just women are capable of.
Not quite the standard yakka anymore, they now have a great colour range teaming prison green pants with two tone Aussie green and gold shirts accentuated with reflective stripes, I've actually had locals (and not the ones that inhabit the 'residential' precinct of this hicksville town area on a Sunday, not cause its Church day, the 7th day happens to be the day when the pub, where we are accommodated, is the only place you can 'get ya grog on a
Sundy missus') comment on how complimentary these colours are with my hair/complexion colorings.
I've recently upgraded the old fav traditional Rossi's for buckwheat Oliver All Terrain's, which didn't take long for the pristine condition to be tarnished by a few rather large blotches of forever there oil, albeit a nice change from the iron ore scaring of the old fav Rossi's - I know this won't raise eyebrows with Ma Kettle, over the years she's seen me and the washing machine colour lots of things a nice shade of red, blue, green or whatever the 'in vogue' bleeding colour may happen to be at the time.
As for the feminine tones you can point those flash high heals all the way up the city centre, you don't need squashed toes and aching calves to turn heads, it's all in the way you deliver your style, oh OK plus some lacy lingerie and a squirt of perfume!!
Yeah, working in a man's world is interesting and can be fun BUT I still expect the mortal male to hold a door open for me, especially the car door on a date ... wouldn't have it any other way:-)
